Writer Sanou Mbaye has passed away. Journalist Alassane Samba Diop, CEO of the Emedia group, who invited him on several occasions to appear on his programs, paid tribute to “one of Senegal’s greatest intellectuals who, he said, selflessly wrote a lot about Africa, with clear ideas for the continent’s development. Senegal has lost one of its finest sons

Biography of Sanou Mbaye, author of the book: “L’ Afrique au secours de l’Afrique”
Sanou Mbaye, a former senior official of the African Development Bank, is a political and economic columnist. His writings on the development of African countries offer alternative policies to those put in place in Africa by Westerners and their ally arms : the IMF and the World Bank.
“L’ Afrique au secours de l’Afrique”
What has happened to Africa to make the hope born of decolonization seem like a mirage today? The development model imposed by the West is certainly to blame, but can we exonerate Africa’s elites from any responsibility for the worsening poverty and violence that are hampering the creative energy of so many of the continent’s citizens? Based on a lucid diagnosis, this book proposes a wide range of innovative solutions that will enable Africans to take control of their own development.
A pan-Africanist, Sanou Mbaye advocates overcoming nationalist and ethnic confinement so that the solidarity of the peoples of the continent and those of his diaspora can flourish. It is through this breeding ground that Africans will draw strength and hope to reclaim their identity, which has been undermined by centuries of domination. Fifty years after independence, to achieve full realization, Africa can and must wake up.
